Waterfront Visitor Center (Temporarily Closed)

Due to COVID-19 the Waterfront Visitors Center will remin closed this summer. For assistance please visit the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park’s Essential Information Station in the Garden at 33 William Street from 10am- 4pm, Thursday – Sunday.

The City of New Bedford’s Waterfront Visitor Center (Wharfinger Building) is located on Pier 3 of an active commercial fishing port. The building houses National Park Service exhibits that engage you in present-day commercial fishing, while outdoor displays at the water’s edge offer glimpses into New Bedford’s maritime past.

Operating Hours & Seasons:
8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday year round
9:00 am – 4:00 pm Saturday & Sunday Memorial Day – Labor Day
10:00 am – 3:00 pm Saturday & Sunday Labor Day – Columbus Day
Closed Saturdays & Sundays Columbus Day – June
Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years Day
