The New Bedford Whaling Museum is partnering with the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra to bring you Common Ground: A Musical Mosaic Edition. This live online musical event is part of the Whaling Museum’s #CommonGround story collecting initiative in Greater New Bedford. During the concert, experience a rich musical tapestry of different cultures and histories from around the world. Your musical journey will whisk you away to Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Israel, and China, tracing the many paths immigrants from around the world have taken to arrive in New Bedford. A solo violin piece based on a Chinese folk melody and written by local Chinese-American composer Dr. Jing Wang will be one highlight of the evening. Dance legend Kevin Doyle will join the musicians, adding his lively step-dancing and clogging to Irish jigs, hornpipes, waltzes, and reels. Tickets are $10 for Whaling Museum members and $15 for non-members. Register to receive the invitation: http://ow.ly/wJvA50BfZLM.
