Working on the Waterfront: Words and Images of Shoreside Workers focuses on the important role of shoreside workers. Drawing on oral history interviews conducted over the course of a year, the exhibit gives visitors an opportunity to hear directly from those who work in the many shoreside support trades.
An oral history kiosk, made possible with support from NOAA’s Voices from the Fisheries, enables visitors to listen to workers talk about Learning the Trade, A Typical Day, and All in the Family.
The interviews and photographs were produced as part of an Archie Green Fellowship from the Library of Congress.
Admission to the Center is free. Open Thursday – Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Free parking in our lot.
