Whales Today Live promises to be a truly one-of-a-kind performance featuring contemporary dancers from Tilted Collab interpreting the Whaling Museum’s new exhibition “Whales Today.” Set to original music commissioned by the Museum, the dancers’ improvisational movements will be inspired by whale behaviors, sounds, vulnerabilities, and survival. The music was composed by Simon White, Sean Fennessey, and Thomas O’Leary. It is a response to the exhibition’s narratives and influenced by digital recordings of whale sounds spotlighted in “Whales Today.” Guests are free to explore the galleries throughout the night. An exclusive talk with the dancers will take place after the performance. #WhalesTodayLive is part of Massachusetts #Artweek, an annual award-winning innovative festival presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center. Reception 6 pm; Performance 6:30 pm.
