William and Eighth STs New Bedford
On September 14th the William and Eighth Street neighborhood will be alive with music, history, and the arts. There will be activities for the kids in the garden of the First Unitarian Church; , the First Baptist Church the First and the Universalist Church (Gallery X) will all be alive with laughter and music Free vendor space for artists, craft makers, and Non Profits on William Street and Eighth Streets.
We are excited to show off the progress in the restoration of the 1829 First Baptist Church, now home to Your Theatre INC, also the 1833 First Unitarian Church, by prestigious architects Russell Warren and A.J. Davis. Also the 1855 First Universalist Church (Gallery X), These churches are not only historic structures they are vital and offer so much to the community. This is a chance to visit and learn a bit of the history of these beautiful buildings and our efforts to save these treasures long into the future. Each church group will offer entertainment, not only music, but theater, art, poetry, historical actors, etc.
