Right Whale Day

Learn to eat, see, and hear like a whale on Right Whale Day at the New Bedford Whaling Museum! Hands-on learning and fun will help you and your family understand the status and plight of the highly endangered North Atlantic right whale. Try right whale crafts and activities, investigate the life-size model of a right whale head, and explore whale biology and behavior exhibits in the newly expanded “Whales Today” exhibition. Learn how human activity affects whales. Activities in the Museum’s Jacobs Family Gallery are free for everyone! As an added bonus with regular paid admission, you can climb into two different inflatable whales, including a North Atlantic right whale. Right Whale Day is presented in partnership with New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), AIS, and Whale and Dolphin Conservation. Kids – you must come with an adult!
