Low Lily, the Americana-Celtic band with smooth vocal tones, intricate arrangements and driving rhythms comes to New Bedford for a Music in the Gallery concert on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 7:30 PM in the beautiful James Arnold Mansion, owned by the Wamsutta Club, 427 County Street (at the corner of Union Street), New Bedford, MA. Music in the Gallery is presented by the Music Directors of the New Bedford Folk Festival. Music in the Gallery concerts are open to the general public. All are welcome to this lovely, unique music experience.
Low Lily explores the roots and branches of American folk music with traditional influences and modern inspiration that weaves together a unique brand of acoustic music. Liz Simmons (vocals and guitar), Flynn Cohen (vocals, guitar and mandolin), and Lissa Schneckenburger (vocals and fiddle) are masterful players with deep relationships to traditional music styles ranging from bluegrass to Irish, Scottish, New England and Old Time Appalachian sounds. These musicians bring their considerable strengths, experience and history together to create an undeniably rich and versatile musical palette. Their stellar composition skills and inventive arrangements produce music that is rooted yet contemporary.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. Cash bar and a limited menu is available. Ample free parking, open to the general public for this show, is also available. Tickets are $20 in advance online and $25 at the door. Due to the intimate setting for the concert, seating is very limited, so advance purchase is advised which guarantees seating.
