AHA Night at the RJD: Talk on New England Glass
Kirk J. Nelson, Executive Director, The New Bedford Museum of Glass
Thursday, November 14, 5:30pm
New Bedford was celebrated as the “art glass capitol of the country” in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its famous Mt. Washington and Pairpoint glass factories employed more than 1,200 workers during this period. This lecture will survey their innovative and beautiful products using examples from the
extensive collection of the New Bedford Museum of Glass. The museum’s recent move to County Street keeps this important collection in the city. Free.
